New Years Resolutions for Women in Midlife
02 Jan New Years Resolutions for Women in Midlife
Happy New Year, ladies! It’s time to say goodbye to 2022 (good riddance, amiright?) and hello to a fresh start in 2023. If you’re a midlife woman, you know that time is of the essence, so let’s make this year count. Here are a few New Year’s resolutions that are perfect for us fabulous midlife ladies:
- Make a DECISION about what you want for yourself this year: One of the keys to making progress towards your goals is to be clear about what it is you want to achieve. Take some time to think about what’s most important to you, and make a decision about what you want for yourself this year.
- Make self-care a priority: Midlife can be a juggling act, with work, family, and all the other balls we’re constantly trying to keep in the air. This year, let’s make sure we’re taking care of ourselves too. Whether it’s daily meditation, weekly yoga, or monthly massages, let’s make time for the things that help us feel calm, centered, and oh-so-pampered.
- Get moving: Exercise is important at any age, but as we get older it becomes even more crucial for maintaining our health and vitality. This year, let’s commit to getting our bodies moving, whether it’s joining a gym, taking up a new sport, or simply going for a daily walk. Bonus points if we can make it a fun, social activity with friends!
- Eat healthier: We all know the drill – a healthy diet is key to overall wellness. But that doesn’t mean we have to give up all the good stuff (hello, wine and chocolate). This year, let’s focus on incorporating more whole, unprocessed foods into our meals, and cutting back on the processed junk.
- Learn something new: Keep that brain of yours active and engaged by learning something new this year. Whether it’s taking a cooking class, learning a new language, or picking up a new hobby, let’s keep our minds sharp and curious.
- Connect with others: Strong social connections are essential for our mental and emotional well-being. Make time to connect with friends and family, and consider joining a group or club that shares your interests. Bonus points if it involves wine and/or chocolate.
- DREAM and create a VISION for your self for 2023: The start of a new year is a great time to dream big and imagine all the possibilities for your future. Take some time to think about what you would love to have, do, or be in 2023. What are your biggest hopes and dreams for yourself?
- IF anything was possible what would you LOVE?: Allow yourself to think big and imagine that anything is possible. What would you love to do or achieve if you had no limitations? What are the things that excite and inspire you? Use these thoughts to help guide your goals and resolutions for the coming year.
- Set goals and work towards them: Whether it’s saving for a big trip, getting a promotion at work, or simply improving our daily habits, setting goals can help give direction and purpose to our lives. Make a plan and take small steps towards achieving your goals throughout the year. And remember, it’s not about perfection – it’s about progress.
By making a decision about what you want, dreaming and creating a vision for your future, imagining all the things you love, and prioritizing self-care, movement, healthy eating, learning, and connection, you can start the New Year off RIGHT
